Dynamos beat Lions 3-2

Chandigarh: A golden goal by Sandeep Singh kept Chandigarh Dynamo’s hopes alive as they defeated Banglore Lions 3-2 in the second of the best of three finals of the Premier Hockey League here on Tuesday.

The match was locked at 2-2 till the regulation time. Tushar Khandekar and Rehan Butt scored the goals for the Lions.

Sandeep Singh struck a brace including the golden goal and Deepak Thakur scored in the final quarter for the Dynamos.

Lions drew the first blood in the first quarter when their Butt gave a pass to Tushar Khandekar who made no mistake in putting the finding the net.

The equaliser for the dynamos came in the third quarter when Sandeep’s drag flick passed through defending Len Aiyappa and goalie Bharat Chhetri. Dynamos succeeded in converting the fourth penalty corner.

Now both the teams are locked at 1-1 and will play for the decider on Wednesday.
