Ranchi, Jan. 31: Employees of the Birsa Munda Airport staged a demonstration today in protest against the alleged privatisation plan of the Mumbai and New Delhi airports. The demonstration was organised by the Airports Authority of India Employees Joint Forum (AAIEFJ).

Members of the forum shouted slogans against the government?s proposal and demanded that the modernisation work be handed over to the authority itself.

The demonstration was being led by convenor-general M. Nandi, who threatened that the stir could be intensified if the government did not rethink over its decision.

?Right now, we have staged a symbolic protest to voice our feelings. We are waiting for further directions from our central committee members in New Delhi for further course of action,? he said.
