Ladies get their scooter & shop

Jamshedpur, Jan. 30: Leading two-wheeler manufacturer, Hero Honda, today launched its first scooter ?Pleasure? for women customers with an exclusive ?Just4her? showroom in the city.

Head of sales, Hero Honda Motors Limited, Deepak Mokashi, who was here to inaugurate the showroom in Bistupur said the steel city was chosen for the launch in the eastern region as it had a high percentage of women riding two-wheelers as compared to other cities in eastern India.

The company has plans to open 22 such showrooms, exclusively for women customers across the country. The next two outlets will be inaugurated in Bhubaneshwar and Guwahati in the next couple of months.

Elaborating on the features of the scooter, Pleasure, Mokashi said it was available in five exciting colours with 100 cc self-start variomatic transmission, multi-reflector headlight and body-coloured mirrors.

He said that non-geared scooters were witnessing an annual growth of about 10 per cent.

In the steel city, each scooter can be bought at a price of Rs 36,580 (ex-showroom).

According to Mokashi, the exclusive outlets will offer special facilities to women customers. Added to this, the showrooms would also have female service supervisors and sales executives for attending to the ladies.

The outlets have promised to provide ?anytime pick-up and emergency service on a 12-hour basis?.

?There is a huge untapped segment of women customers, which offers immense growth potential. With this launch we are now ready to extend our products and services to this vast customer profile,? said R. Mittal, regional manager of Hero Honda Motors Limited, (eastern zone).
