talent hunt

Dance like a dog

Here is a fame gurukul with a difference. Set up in Germany, it is meant for pets ' the more talented ones who get to sing, dance and play musical instruments. Viviane Theby from the Wittlich Fame Academy has already taught a hen to play the xylophone and a cat to play the piano. Theby uses the same principles as other animal trainers. “If the pet hits the right note it gets a reward. Animals repeat what they are rewarded for,” she says. And usually fellow students take the cue from there. Fellow chicken student Gackeline is a case in point. He has already learnt the first few bars of Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star. Referring to the cat Fuchs, the music teacher says, “He’s even given concerts and we have sold some of his CDs. Occasionally we play a duet together.” Her dog Bellos has been taught how to dance. It took Theby six months, but she managed to teach him a set routine and now they do the ‘dog-dance’ together.
