Bajaj Hindustan Ltd has posted a 138 per cent growth in net profit for the last quarter of the accounting year ended December 31, 2005. Its net profit for the quarter was Rs 24.24 crore against Rs 10.19 crore in the same period a year ago. Total revenue also rose by 138 per cent to Rs 293.9 crore from Rs 123.31 crore. The company has announced a new green field sugar plant of 5,000 tonnes crushed per day capacity at a total investment of Rs 450 crore.
Tamil Nadu Newsprint & Papers Ltd has reported a four-fold increase in after-tax profit of Rs 14.65 crore for the quarter ended December 31, 2005 compared with Rs 3.49 crore for the same quarter in the previous fiscal. Total income of the company has increased by 10.33 per cent to Rs 207.95 crore for from Rs 188.47 crore in the year-ago period.
Mukand Limited has recorded a Rs 88.76 crore net profit in the third quarter ended December 31, 2005 compared with Rs 61.67 crore in the corresponding quarter last fiscal. The company achieved a turnover of Rs 470.56 crore in the reporting quarter against Rs 469.76 crore in the same period last year.
Indo Rama Synthetics Ltd has reported a 78.39 per cent decline in net profit at Rs 4.63 crore for the third quarter this fiscal compared with Rs 21.43 crore in the year-ago period largely due to rising input costs. The total income decreased by 12 per cent to Rs 418.11 crore for the quarter against Rs 476.31 crore in the corresponding period last fiscal.
Indian Hotels Company Ltd has clocked a 76 per cent rise in earnings at Rs 61.54 crore for the quarter ended December 31, 2005 compared with Rs 34.97 crore for the same quarter a year ago. Total income of the company increased to Rs 328.50 crore for the quarter from Rs 252.58 crore in the year-ago period.
Trent Ltd has posted a 24.01 per cent increase in net profit for the third quarter ended December 31, 2005 at Rs 6.42 crore compared with Rs 5.18 crore in the corresponding quarter of the previous fiscal. Total income of the company during the quarter increased by 34.39 per cent to Rs 96.37 crore from Rs 71.70 crore in the year-ago period.
Shasun Chemicals and Drugs has posted a 43 per cent rise increase in net profit for the third quarter ended December 31, 2005 at Rs 12.90 crore compared with Rs 9.01 crore in the corresponding quarter previous year.
Ramsarup Industries will pay a 10 per cent interim dividend for 2005-06. The board of the company has recommended adividend of Rs 1 on shares of Rs 10 each.
