Chennai: Dronacharya Award-winner Michael Fereira has been appointed chief coach of the Indian billiards and snooker teams for the Doha Asian Games to be held later this year.

The Billiards and Snooker Federation of India at its managing committee meeting here also decided to appoint Manoj Kothari and Subash Agarwal as coaches for the teams.

The senior national billiards and snooker championships have been allotted to Bangalore.

The meeting, which discussed at length the difficulties faced by affiliates in holding all the national events ? senior, junior and sub-junior ? at a single venue decided to split them, a BSFI release said.
