Chandigarh: Top seed Rupesh Roy, second seed Sumit Parkash Gupta and fourth seed Akshay Bajoria stormed into the boys singles semi-finals in the ITF junior (grade 3) tournament at the CLTA Stadium here Wednesday.

The fourth semi-finalist was third seed Ivan Anikanov of Ukraine, who meets Gupta. Rupesh will face Bajoria in the other semifinal.

In the women’s section, fourth seeded Sanaa Bhambri also advanced to the last four. She joined the giant-killer Ni Zhou, who upset top seed Ksenia Palkina, second seed Julia Glushko of Israel and Chinese qualifier Yi Zhong.

Top seed Roy beat Chinese qualifier Chen-Yu Wu 7-6 (7-2) 6-3. (PTI)
