Jamshedpur, Dec. 26: A swift affiliation to the national soccer body notwithstanding, problems seem far from over for the Jharkhand State Football Association (JSFA).
Its latest controversy is over the location of the state football headquarters, with each faction within the JSFA coming out with their respective preferences.
Sources in the JSFA said there is competition going on between three alternatives ? Jamshedpur, Giridih and Ranchi.
So far, the steel city was enjoying the popularity of being the main centre. But the situation changed dramatically after the body was granted affiliation last week.
If JSFA convener Ghulam Rabbani is to be believed, the football headquarters will either be located in Jamshedpur or Giridih.
?Ideally, the headquarters should function from either of these places,? Rabbani said.
He added that Jamshedpur has been the headquarters of the JSFA?s ad hoc interim panel.
Correspondence from the AIFF reaches Jamshedpur first before it is send to me in Giridih, he said. Rabbani may have his own preferences about the proposed headquarters, but Syed Matloob Hashmi, secretary-general of the Dhanbad District Football Association (DDFA), said Ranchi should ideally be the state centre.
Speaking from Delhi, Hashmi, who allegedly tried to form a rival faction of the JSFA earlier, said the headquarters should be based in Ranchi, as the Olympic body is located in the city as well.
?The issue of headquarters should be settled amicably and in a ?democratic? manner,? said Hashmi, who is also the secretary-general of the Jharkhand Olympic Association.
