Govt clears land for IT sector

The state government on Thursday approved acquisition of 330 acres near New Town and the airport to provide land at cheaper rates to IT firms. With the Cabinet already deciding to acquire 300 acres in the same area, a total of 630 acres will now be earmarked for the IT sector.

Bus strike

The Joint Council of Bus Syndicate has called an 'indefinite strike' from January 1 to protest the government's move to ban pre-1990 buses.

Flight disruption

Several flights to and from New Delhi were delayed on Thursday because of dense fog in the Capital. An Indian flight, which took off in time, landed late after circling over the airport. n Indian flight from Delhi arrived in the city three hours late. A Sahara Airlines flight to Delhi was diverted to Lucknow and the departure of a Jet Airways flight was delayed.
