Youth gives captors the slip

Bokaro, Dec. 1: Bokaro police today arrested four kidnappers who had abducted the 22-year-old son of a jeweller of Petarwar. They picked up the culprits from a hut near sector IX of Bokaro Steel City where they had kept him.

Police said the youth, Shreekant Soni, escaped from the clutches of the kidnappers after they got drunk and became unconscious.

After getting information from the youth, the police raided the place where he had been kept and arrested all the kidnappers.

Soni was kidnapped yesterday by his close friend, Mukesh Kumar, who had promised him a job in the Bokaro Steel Plant and had brought him to the city on the pretext of introducing him to a senior officer of the plant.

Soni, who stays in Petarwar, was supposed to be given the job yesterday, the police revealed, adding that all kidnappers were in their early 20?s.

The kidnappers called up his father and asked him to pay the amount. At night, when the kidnappers got drunk, Soni escaped from there captivity and informed the police about the incident.
