Jamshedpur, Nov. 27: Charanjeet Singh, the owner of a travel agency, was roughed up and robbed of Rs 6,000 at Baridih market last evening.

Singh, who has been severely injured, has been admitted to the Mahatma Gandhi hospital for treatment.

According to sources, Singh, a resident of Tube Baridih Colony, was on his way to his shop last evening when the miscreants stopped him and demanded money.

When he protested, the miscreants assaulted him and snatched from him Rs 6,000, which he was carrying then.

Singh recorded a statement before the police where he alleged three people, Rajje, Dhananjay Tiwary and Pawan ? all local people ? had also demanded Rs 20,000 from him. They had also threatened him with dire consequences if he failed to pay them up.

The police are investigating the case but no arrests have been made in this connection so far.
