TELL ME WHY

Have you ever wondered, why erasers are made of rubber? Well, that?s because the lead in the pencils are attracted to rubber. So, when we try to erase something, the soft abrasive surface of the rubber gently scrubs the top layer of the paper, removing some paper along with the graphite particles. Clumps of rubber along with the paper and graphite particles produce the stuff that you blow and brush off. Because erasers are made of rubber globules, held together, rubbing causes the globules to fall apart. As the top layer of the paper is also removed along with the lead writing, too much rubbing can tear the page.
