Amanjyot still in top spot

Calcutta: Amanjyot Singh of Jaipur returned a par-70 card to maintain his lead in the Category A (15-17 age group) event of the Nokia Eastern India Junior/Sub-Junior Championships at the Tollygunge Club on Wednesday. His aggregate after two rounds is three-under 137.

Rahul Bakshi and Surya Jai Prakash are still in second and third place, respectively. While Bakshi carded a 73 for a two-day total of 144, Prakash returned 72 for a total of 146.The 15-year-old Amanjyot scored birdies on the 2nd, 7th, 8th, 14th and 17th holes, but a double bogey on the 11th prevented him from submitting a better card.

Rashid Khan of Delhi leads Category B (13-14 years) with an aggregate of 10-over 150, while Hemendra Choudhary and Viraat Badhwar are in front in Categories C (11-12 years) and D (10 and below), respectively.
