Saif’s fair skin actually looks very chalky and pale in camera and he knows it. So what does he do? Here’s his little makeup secret. “Sunbathing with my iPod on. You might call it a bit quirky but, yeah, that’s my makeup regime.” Yes, catching a little sun is his way of putting life back into his skin. Funny, when most of the artistes rush to their vans to keep themselves away from the sun you have the multiplex superstar trying to snatch his place in the sun.

Mallika Sherawat

Get clued in on the glue

Sudhanshu Pandey, also in Jackie Chan’s The Myth, spilled the beans on Mallika. He said a body double ? a gymnast and martial arts expert from China ? was hired to do Mallika’s action sequences as they required a lot of flexibility (obviously not the kind Mallika has). But wait, Stanley Chong, the film’s director, denied that the actress used a body double and said that she performed the scenes herself! Now whom do we believe? Chong had originally offered the role to a number of Bollywood actresses, who turned it down because of the split-second strip scene. But this bold babe said she had no problem doing it. It’s a funny action sequence where the two roll about on a huge platter covered with glue. When Jackie yanks Mallika upwards, her choli is stuck to the platter, and she ends up topless. But Jackie’s Tee is off in a flash and covers Mallika (Hindi movie, anyone? Jackie ne uski izzat bachaa lee). For this sequence, too, Mallika was wearing flesh-coloured tights, confirmed her director. So, now you know how too many myths were being woven around Mallika and The Myth. But the wait is almost over so watch out for the promos, wait for the December release. And get the study glasses out.

Sameera Reddy

Fat is hot

Here’s one Bollywood actress who does not want to shed her puppy fat, thank you. She’s deliriously happy the way she is. And the fault isn’t hers. Lots and lots of men have told her that they love buxom, curvaceous women, and she looks hot. And what’ll happen to her poor South audiences, she asks worriedly, who like her as she is even more?
