| New Delhi: Korean archers dominated the recurve events while Indian women led in the compound events on Day I of the 14th Asian Archery Championships here on Sunday. In the women’s team compound, India were leading with 1979 points, followed by Iran with 1795 points. In the men’s team compound, China (1918) routed India (1911) to gain a slender lead of seven points on day one. Thailand were on the third spot with 1849 points. Indian women dominated the scene in individual compound. Sakro Besra (668) and Jhanu Hansda (661) were placed first and second, respectively, while Bansarlin Dhar was third. In the individual women’s recurve, Korea achieved sweeping success. (PTI) |
