Calcutta: V.V.S. Laxman and Ajay Jadeja are expected to be in the city on Saturday in connection with the Scorpio Speedster Contest ? ‘The Hunt for India’s fastest bowler’, to be held at the Deshapriya Park over the next two days to choose the fastest bowler of Calcutta and adjoining areas.

A total of 10 contestants will be shortlisted from 10 cities. They will stay at Mumbai’s Cricket Club of India (CCI) to prepare for the semi-finals and the final there.

As of now, winners of seven cities have been identified. Munis Ansari of Bhopal is the fastest (136 kmph), it was announced at a press conference.

The winner of the grand finale will receive Rs 10 lakh. He will also be trained at the MRF Pace Foundation in Chennai for four-and-a-half-months.
