Lines up $80m kitty

Shenzhen, Oct. 25: Huawei Technologies India is all set to invest $80 million to expand its software operations at its Bangalore Centre.

The investment will be made to set up a new campus fully owned and managed by Huawei. This will also help the company to add more software professionals. Currently, the centre in Bangalore develops products for its high end telecommunications hardware switches and routers.

The Bangalore centre will be critical for development of products for its new generation networks that will allow triple play-voice-video and data on a single platform.

James Yuan, vice-president strategy and marketing application software of Huawei Technologies, said, “The new campus will allow us to add another 2000 professionals in India.”
