Aizawl gets progress tips from Kalam

Aizawl, Sept. 24: President A.P.J. Adbul Kalam today addressed a special session of the Mizoram Assembly, convened by governor A.R. Kohli, and presented a 10-year progress plan called Missions for Mizoram 2015.

The President made a PowerPoint presentation highlighting the areas which would pave the way for the state?s progress such as bio-fuel, bamboo, horticulture, quality nursing, paramedic education and tourism.

He also stressed the need to provide urban amenities in the rural areas.

Kalam?s arrival here this morning completes his tour of the 28 states and the Union Territories.

On his way to the state capital from Lengpui airport, Kalam stopped at Sairang village and interacted with village leaders and students.

He also visited Mizoram University and spoke to students and faculty members.
