XAVIER LABOUR RELATIONS INSTITUTE (XLRI), JAMSHEDPUR

SUBJECT: XAT to be held on January 8, 2006, for admission to the following programmes: (1) business management programme: two-year full-time residential programme that facilitates learning in theory and practice of different functional areas such as economics, finance, general management, information systems, marketing, operations management, organisational behaviour, strategic management and personnel management and industrial relations. The aim is to equip the students with an integrated approach to management function and managerial skills (2) personal management and industrial relations programme: two-year full-time residential programme that facilitates learning in modern concepts, techniques and practices in the management of human resources and industrial relations. It exposes the students to different functional areas of management to enhance their effectiveness (3) general management programme: one-year full-time residential programme for working executives (4) executive postgraduate programme: three-year part-time programme for working executives. Participants will be required to make eight trips to the campus of 20 days each, spread over three years.

ELIGIBILITY: For (1) and (2), candidates are required to have a bachelors degree under 10+2+3 system recognised by a university or a deemed university. For (3) and (4), candidates must have a minimum of three years' work experience as on May 31, 2006.

PARTICULARS: A candidate interested in XLRI has to first register for XAT 2006. The XAT ID and password so obtained are required for applying to XLRI. Procedure to obtain XAT bulletin from State Bank of India (SBI) and XAT registration: (1) A candidate can obtain XAT bulletin from select branches of SBI on payment of Rs 700 (2) Registration for XAT 2006: The applicant has to log on to the website http://www.xlri.edu and go to XLRI registration. Here the candidate has to fill in the XLRI form and opt for one of the programmes offered by XLRI. Then the candidate has to provide personal details, XLRI prospectus number, date, SBI branch name and submit the form online (3) Once the bank details have been provided, the candidate must print the XLRI payment advice form (XLRI PA form) (4) Enclose the third copy of the bank / XLRI pay-in-slip along with the duly completed XLRI PA form and use only the special envelope provided with the XLRI prospectus and send it by registered post, speed post or courier within a week of obtaining the XLRI prospectus.

Procedure for obtaining XLRI prospectus from the admissions office, XLRI Jamshedpur, and XLRI registration: (1) An applicant has to make a demand draft for Rs 850 for XLRI prospectus. The demand draft has to be drawn in favour of XLRI, Jamshedpur, payable at SBI, XLRI branch (branch code no 4660) (2) Registration for XLRI admissions 2006: The applicant has to log on to http://www.xlri.edu and go to XLRI registration. Here fill in the XLRI form and opt for one of the programmes offered by XLRI .The candidate has to provide the the demand draft number and date and submit the form online. Please mention your XAT ID and your name on the reverse of the demand draft (3) Once the candidates provide the demand draft details, the candidate can then proceed to take the printout of XLRI payment advice form (XLRI PA form) (4) The candidate has to enclose the demand draft along with the duly completed XLRI PA form and send it by registered post, speed post or courier (5) XLRI prospectus will be sent only after receiving the request and checking that it is complete in all respects. Please note that the list of the short listed candidates for XLRI will be posted on the website http://www.xlri.edu by January 31, 2006. The names of the candidates who subsequently succeed in the selection interviews for admission to XLRI will be intimated individually and also will be available on the websites http://www.xlri.ac.in and http://www.xlri.edu.
