Drug prices lowered

New Delhi, Sept. 19: The government today revised downwards the prices of 15 bulk drugs by as much as 36 per cent while fixing the price of recombinant human insulin for the first time. The National Pharmaceutical Pricing Authority also fixed or revised prices of 308 formulation packs in accordance with the Drugs Prices Control Order, 1995. The price of bulk drug human insulin has been fixed at Rs 33,31,261 per kg.

Oil bidding

New Delhi, Sept. 19: The government will launch the sixth round of bidding for oil and gas blocks under the new exploration licensing policy in January. It is also working out a policy framework for moving towards the open acerage system where blocks will be available throughout the year and firms can pick and choose the block they want and submit bids to the government.

Cadbury head

Mumbai, Sept. 19: Cadbury Schweppes Asia Pacific has appointed Anand Kripalu as MD of Cadbury India. He replaces Bharat Puri, who has been appointed commercial strategy director for Asia Pacific.

Harsh Lodha

New Delhi, Sept. 19: The Romanian government has cancelled the appointment of Harsh V. Lodha as the honorary consul in Calcutta.

VAT meet

New Delhi, Sept. 19: The empowered panel on VAT will meet in the first week of October to discuss implementation issues.
