Ranchi, Sept. 18: Anil Bansfore, a resident of Premchand Nagar in Dhanbad who runs the Ambedkar School of Marital Arts, is registered in the Limca Book of Records for not one, but a number of records.
Despite his name figuring in the list of records, he is yet to get any government aid for his otherwise ?poor standard of living?.
All his requests to the state government have fallen on deaf ears.
Seeing no other way due to state?s apathy, the Dhanbad lad has now made up his mind to seek greener pastures like Mumbai, where he intends to train under the famous Bollywood fight director Cheetah Ignas Shetty and become one like him and earn a name for himself.
Currently in Ranchi, Bansfore pointed out that he had met the vice-president of India, Bhairav Singh Shekhawat, New Delhi chief minister Shiela Dixit and the state?s home minister, Sudesh Kumar Mahto.
Despite their assurances, no help had been provided to him.
?I recently had a chat with Shetty and now seeing the poor state of affairs in the state, I intend to go to Mumbai and earn a livelihood there as well as earn a name for myself,? said Bansfore.
?The government is not at all serious about the sport. While it announces many things for players such as M.S. Dhoni and others, it has turned a blind eye towards players like us who play such a sport about which not many are aware of. We are also performing and creating records and as we belong to a disadvantaged section of society, we should also be given jobs so that we can perform better and earn a name for the state,? said Bansfore.
?But seeing the bleak scenario in Jharkhand, I have decided to train under Shetty, who has the reputation of training Bollywood bigwigs like Hritik Roshan, Amitabh Bachchan, Govinda and a host of others,? he added.
Apart from the above mentioned two records, Bansfore has also set the record of holding one leg steady in the stance of a side-kick for one hour and forty-five minutes.
He also holds the record of performing 300 sidekicks in just six minutes.
The martial arts expert maintains that he started getting his karate training in 1990 and after his training founded the school of martial arts.
?I belong to the Dalit class. In Dhanbad, we were looked upon as untouchables. There was widespread discrimination. I belong to a sweeper?s family, but after I started learning the art, I promised myself that I would earn a name for myself as well as my Dalit society so that nobody discriminates among us,? said Anil Bansfore.
And if that was not enough, Bansfore along with a group of other members also has an inclination towards social service and interestingly, he has helped in marrying off more than 50 poor Dalit women living in his area.
He also undertakes many programmes such as clothes distribution among kids, organising community lunches and many others.
And his efforts and hard work in achieving his goal have already started paying rich dividends, as he is now looked upon with respect and children hero worship him.
And what?s more, not satisfied with his success, Bansfore is already gearing up for the Guiness World Records and has started preparing for it as well.
The expert who practices for eight hours everyday holds a strong belief that grit, determination and hard work always pays and just like it has helped him achieve his success, he would also succeed in listing his name in the Guiness World Records.
Bansfore further plans to take up the sport to other parts of the state as well as the country and make it popular among the people.
