Calcutta, Sept. 14: Taiwan-based BenQ is planning to increase its Indian presence and market-share in LCD monitors, mobile phones and IT-related products.
India is our second biggest market after China, said Peter Chen, general manager of BenQs Digital Media division. Chen is visiting Calcutta as a part of BenQs 14-city promotional drive. The company also has a presence in Europe.
Eastern India accounts for 12-15 per cent of BenQ Indias revenues. Mobile phones and LCD monitors do particularly well here, said Ashish Bakshi, country manager ? India operations. Globally, the group did business worth $10.8 billion last year and targets revenues worth $13 billion by the end of 2005.
