State archers win gold medals

Jamshedpur, Sept. 12: State archers claimed three gold, two silver and three bronze medals in the recently concluded sub-junior National Archery Championship held in Ajmer.

The Jharkhand boys? and girls? team finished fourth in the Indian round event of the meet, said Sanjeeva Singh, secretary of the state archery association.

Roshan Kumar of Sports Authority of India (Ranchi) and Sweety Kumari of DBMS School won individual gold medals in the modern round while the team of Sweety, Rimil, Meena (all DBMS) and Renu Munda of Naomundi grab- bed the top slot in the team event.

Sweety and Shefali of Seraikela-Kharsawan won silver medals in the modern and Indian round, respectively, Singh added.

The individual bronze medals were won by Sanjay Swasi of Seraikela and Rimil of DBMS.

The state team also claimed the third slot in the boys? modern round team event.
