Was the film Mangal Pandey worth the wait?

No. though the movie boasts of technical expertise with great cinematography and art direction, a sub-standard soundtrack, in juxtaposition with an unappealing storyline, undermines the commendable performance of Aamir Khan.

Definitely. Many of us are unaware of the circumstances that prevailed during the Sepoy Mutiny. The film has not only showcased those times with elan but has also provided wholesome entertainment.

No. Compared to Lagaan, Mangal Pandey is nothing special. It is just like any other Hindi potboiler. The only difference is that it is based against the backdrop of a famous historical event.

Yes, definitely. the film marks the return of Aamir Khan after a gap of four years. He has evoked the spirit of Mangal Pandey and has given the audience a chance to get to know this great character.

Though the initial hype has helped the producers to recover the money, on the whole, the movie disappoints. Aamir Khan has done justice to his portrayal of the hero but finally, the movie was not worth the wait.
