3 Ulfa rebels arrested
Troops of Red Horns division of the army along with Boko police arrested three Ulfa militants believed to be behind the Boko improvised explosive device (IED) blast which killed four persons on August 7.
he arrested rebels are Dinesh Boro, Jeetu Das and Ashwani Boro. A Chinese pistol, a Chinese grenade and extortion notes were seized from them.
Naidu visit
BJP national vice-president M. Venkaiah Naidu will visit Nagaland on September 9 for the party?s silver jubilee celebration. T.C. Gehlot, in-charge of the Northeast and national general secretary Sanjay Joshi will attend the function in Dimapur.
Dhubri arms
Dhubri police seized a pistol and ammunition from Saifiqul Islam and Zakir Hussain from Kharuapanda area under south Salmara police station.
New course
Dibrugarh University has joined hands with Electronics Corporation of India Limited to offer a one-year post graduate diploma in bio-informatics from November. An MoU was recently signed between the parties.
Delimitation
Arunachal BJP has urged the state government to request the Centre not to bring any change in the constituencies in the state. Opposition leader Kameng Dolo asked the government to properly represent the peculiar situation of the state. He added though some constituencies may have a higher population in comparison to others, it would not be wise to bifurcate the people in course of delimitation.

The chief executive member of North Cachar Hills Autonomous Council, P. Langthasa, inaugurated an anganwadi centre at Didaodip village under Maibong Integrated Child Development Services Project on Sunday.
Infiltration
The Arunachal Pradesh Congress Committee has expressed concern over reports of rapid increase in Bangladeshi population due to illegal infiltration into the state. The ruling party appealed to the Centre and state governments to prevent infiltration of Bangladeshis into the state.
