Ranchi, Aug. 25: A resident of a village near the capital brutally murdered his wife a few days ago, angry and frustrated over constantly being teased by her wife about his libido.
Sukra Sanga, 40, a resident of Hardag Karamtoli village in Tupudana, 15 km from here, was arrested today for killing his wife in a fit of rage on August 21. Sukra has confessed his crime and said excessive anger made him do it.
Police sources said the man first struck the woman, identified as Ramdai Sanga, with an iron rod till she became unconscious. The man then hammered a long stick up her private parts. The profusely bleeding woman was taken to Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences on August 22 where she died today.
The couple has two daughters and two sons. Sukra earned his living through agriculture. An official of the Tupudana outpost said: ?We suspected this man from the beginning. We had spoken to the people of the village and had come to know that the man was not willing to take her to the hospital. He was sticking to his statement that his wife had come under the influence of a ghost and that she needed spiritual treatment.?
?Moreover, the man had this doubt that his wife was having an extra-marital relationship. The wife, tired of listening to the constant abuse, had begun to retort. She used to call him a failure when it came to satisfying her sexual desires. The man became angry and at last decided to teach her a lesson.?
?Around 1 am on August 21, when Ramdai was asleep, the man woke up and first hit her in the head with the iron rod. He had sent his children to a relative?s house in the same village. The man was planning the murder for over a week,? added the police official.
According to the confessional statement of the man, he ran off to his field after the murder. After an hour or so, a villager noticed that the house was open. He saw the profusely bleeding woman and called the other villagers. Meanwhile, Sukra also returned and acted as if he was shocked. As the villagers decided to take her to the hospital, Sukra said a ?ghost? had caught her and medical treatment would not be beneficial at all.
