| Director Joy Mukharji in a ‘friendlier’ mood with (left-right) Nandini Chatterjee, Saswata Chatterjee and Maitreyee Mitra |
From the City of Joy it’s become the TV of Joy, considering that his works are all over the small screen simultaneously at the moment. There’s no freedom from him on August 15, either when his Sricharaneshu goes on air in the Som Thekey Shoni slot. Interestingly, another telefilm director, Atanu Ghosh, has written the story. But what’s the ‘Independent’ angle' It lies in the locket (not the actress) hanging from Saswata Chatterjee’s neck. While despatching his mother, played by the histrionic wisehead Nandini Chatterjee, with a bit of play-acting, Saswata takes on his father (veteran Debraj Roy), in an impressively longish dialogue, equally cute. Always in a joyful (we didn’t mean to pun, honest!) mood, for once Joy Mukharji had cast him in a “normal role”, something he has been ribbing Joy for some time. Joining in for the fun was Maitreyee Mitra ' it wasn’t Maitreyee, or Friendship, Day that Sunday for nothing! Anil Grover Scheduled telecast: Aakaash Bangla; August 15-20; 9:00 pm |
