Watch on SBI Caps

Mumbai, Aug. 10: The Securities and Exchange Board of India (Sebi) will inspect the books of nine merchant bankers, including SBI Capital Markets and Enam. This is the first time that the records of merchant bankers would be inspected by the market regulator. Merchant bankers are market intermediaries and this exercise of seeking information is a routine activity, a Sebi official said.

New Delhi, Aug. 10: Tata Teleservices has dragged Reliance Infocomm to the Telecom Dispute Settlement Appellate Tribunal, accusing it of not providing interconnection for Tata's services in 12 circles.

IA offer

New Delhi, Aug. 10: Indian Airlines today extended the Monsoon Super Saver Scheme till September 5, which allows purchase of 12 economy-class tickets at Rs 48,500 and 12 coupons of executive class at Rs 72,500. The tickets purchased till that day would be valid till March 31 irrespective of the date of issuance.

New Delhi, Aug. 10: Foreign direct investment guidelines for the telecom sector will be issued shortly, minister of state for communications and IT Shakeel Ahmad told the Lok Sabha today.

Exide JV

Calcutta, Aug. 10: Exide Industries Ltd has put on hold its proposed smelter plant for recycling lead from battery scrap through a joint venture with the Malaysian reclamation industry.
