Youths killed in Bokaro

Bokaro: The decomposed bodies of three youths in their early 30s were recovered from a ditch, at noon on Sunday.

The bodies were discovered near the main gate of Bokaro Steel Plant, creating a sensation in the steel city.

The murdered youths were found in their under garments. Police believe that the youths were killed somewhere else and their bodies dumped in the secluded place later.

A case has been filed against the unknown persons in the city police station of Bokaro and the bodies have been sent for post mortem.

As it was raining heavily for the last few days, the condition of the bodies deteriorated. The bodies were spotted after people complained of smell.

The superintendent of police Bokaro, Manvinder Singh Bhatia, said the police have started investigation in the case. The police are trying to trace whether any missing case has been lodged in any one of the police stations of the district.

Soren in court

Giridih: Former chief minister and Jharkhand Mukti Morcha chief Shibu Soren, will appear in the court of the 1st additional district and session judge in connection with Pirtand double murder case, tomorrow. The trial is on to identify the leader by the prime witnesses. So far, no eyewitness has turned up in court to identify the leader. Besides Soren, nine others have been named accused and eight have been acquitted, from the court. One Jhari Mahto died during the trial. A separate trial is on against the leader.

Demand

Chakradharpur: Sukhram Oraon, a JMM legislator from the Chakradharpur constituency, demanded the immediate dismissal of zonal inspector of police P.S. Natarajan against whom the victim has booked complaint related to indecent behaviour and sexual torture. The legislator said the NDA led government has been giving shelter to such tainted police chief who indulges in such scandals. . ?He must be dismissed. There is valid ground for dismissing him,? said Oroan.

Malaria attack

Chaibasa: A few school students of K.B. Hostel in Chaibasa of West Singhbhum have been admitted to divisional hospital for clinical treatment of diarrhoea and malaria diseases this week. Around 80 students have been living in the government-run hostel in the current calender year.

Demonstration

Bokaro: The All India Steel Workers Federation has decided to demonstrate before the factory of the Steel Authority of India on Tuesday. They are demanding gas cylinders for its employees, HRA to employees who do not avail company quarter and provision of newspapers besides other things. The federation will also participate in the all-India strike called by the trade unions on September 29.

Protest

Giridih: Inquilabi Naujavan Sabha, a wing of CPI-ML, held a meeting with the district youth over the issue of rise of anti-social activities in the district. Residents of Rajpoot Mohalla also complained against the ill-treatment of local Scheduled Caste community by the upper class. The participants cited the recent assault of a woman, Meena Devi (65), by Munna Singh of Rajpoot Mohalla. A memorandum was given to the police, demanding action. The organisation said if the administration does not take action, they will hold a protest march.

16 arrested

Bokaro: Bhojudih Railway section of Bokaro Railway Protection Force (RPF) has arrested 16 persons since last week, included middle aged persons and teenagers, for travelling in the ladies compartment from the Bhojudih Railway section. The arrests were a part of a drive to nab troublemakers who were creating problems for women passengers.

Rotary function

Giridih: The installation function of Rotaract Club for the year 2005 to 2006 was held at Hotel Girnar. New office-bearers took charge for the next year, including president Piyush Mossaddi and secretary Ritesh Modi.

A five-day kathak workshop was inaugurated at the Centre for Excellence, Jamshedpur, on Sunday. The workshop has been organised by the Sangeet Kala Kendra. Pandit Birju Maharaj, the famous Kathak exponent, will attend the workshop on the concluding day.
