Godfrey profit up 13%

Godfrey Phillips has posted a 12.71 per cent rise in its net profit for the first three months of the current financial year at Rs 15.70 crore compared with Rs 13.93 crore in the corresponding quarter last year. Net sales of the tobacco company during the reporting quarter increased to Rs 165.72 crore from Rs 164.51 crore recorded in the year-ago period, the company said in a release here today.

Dishman net

Dishman Pharmaceuticals and Chemicals has reported a 88 per cent increase in after-tax profit at Rs 8.15 crore for the three-month period ended June 30 against Rs 4.33 crore recorded during the same period last year. The company?s net sales and income from operations stood at Rs 41.37 crore compared with Rs 31.12 crore in the corresponding quarter last year.

Dolphin profit

Dolphin Offshore Enterprises has declared a 315 per cent jump in net profit at Rs 2.13 crore for the first quarter of the current financial year. The turnover of the offshore services company during the period went up 98 per cent to Rs 46.16 crore. Earnings per share stood at Rs 3.81 as on June 30.

HEG issue

HEG Ltd has placed $28.75 million (Rs 126 crore) unsecured 5-year foreign currency convertible bonds (FCCBs) which will be listed on the Singapore Stock Exchange. The FCCB are convertible to equity shares at a price of Rs 192.06 at 32 per cent premium and the issue has a green shoe option of 15 per cent (Rs 16.2 crore).

Whirlpool

Whirlpool has launched Iceberg range of frost-free refrigerators with a new age technology that circulates the cold air evenly ensuring uniform cooling. The refrigerator is available in four models in sizes 310L and 340L at a price range between Rs 18,000 and Rs 23,000.

Priya chips

Gee Pee Foods, a sister concern of Priya Biscuits, has launched potato chips in five flavours under the brand ?Pogo?. The products will be available in colourful polypacks of 17gm, 35 gm and 100 gm priced at Rs 5, Rs 10 and Rs 20, respectively. Sourav Ganguly, former-captain of the Indian cricket team, will be the brand ambassador for Pogo.

Luxor pen

Luxor Writing Instruments has launched the Parker Beta Calligraphy pen in Calcutta. The pen has one calligraphy nib, one normal nib and two ink cartridges. The pen is priced at Rs 150 a piece.

TVS sales

TVS Motor Company has sold 101,359 two-wheelers in July compared with 100,224 units in June. Its motorcyle sales last months stood at 53,215 units against 52,958 vehicles in the previous month. TVS Scooty sales increased to 24,244 units from 22,501 units during the month. Moped sales stood at 23,900 units.
