Bokaro clamours for train to south
Bokaro: The south Indians of Bokaro
are not happy with the railway minister.
Even after staying here for years, they still do not have a fast connectivity to the southern states except for a very slow train, Alleppy Express, which takes three days to reach its destination.
In a letter sent to the Railway minister Laloo Prasad Yadav, Bokaro-Madras Passenger Association (BMPA) ? which consists of Utkal samaj, Telgu Samaj, Kannada Sangha and Tamil Madaram ? has demanded a super-fast train to the south.
BMPA sources said the train which initially used to operate between Bokaro and Alleppy has now been extended to Dhanbad.
With so many stoppages and only one air-conditioned compartment, it causes a lot of inconvenience to the south Indians, especially while transporting serious patients to south hospitals.
The BMPA members demanded a new super fast train to Thiruanathapuram via Kharagpur, Vizag and Chennai besides upgradation of Alleppy Express as superfast train.
More than 10,000 students of the coal belt areas study in the southern states and with no superfast trains, the student have no option but to travel in the slow Alleppy Express.
