Shillong, July 8 (PTI): Albansius Mawrie, a daily wage earner from a poor background, has managed to turn around his fortune. He has studied only upto Class VIII, but today he earns Rs.10,000 a month.

With financial assistance from a regional rural bank, Mawrie has been able to set up a Rs 1.67 lakh rural technology project. He approached the Khadi Village Industries Centre (KVIC) for a loan and thus set up a business.

He has been instrumental in providing employment to many unemployed youths, a government release said.
