I doubt if enforcing a dress code for girls in colleges (for their ?safety?) will reduce crimes against women. If a dress code could do that, why are minor girls subjected to sexual harassment? Are women in Islamic countries safe? The fact is, men should learn to exercise self-control.

No. Is this how we define equality? Why do we only talk about a dress code for girls and why not for boys? Girls can decide for themselves and are aware where to draw the line. They are mature enough to know what is decent and what is not.

A dress code is fine in school. Don?t impose a dress code on college girls, because that?s not the reason why crimes against women happen. Boys wear low waist jeans and skin-tight shirts too ? why isn?t there a dress code for them? I don?t think clothes are the problem. The real problem lies in the way we think.

If our moralistic society thinks that by imposing a dress code on girls, it will be able to eradicate molestation and rape, then why on earth are women like Mukhtaran Mai (who?s covered from head to toe) raped? This barbaric rule will only encourage male chauvinists to behave more aggressively towards women.

Instead of tackling the issue of sex education, delivering exemplary punishment to rapists, people are busy passing moral strictures on women. Instead of curbing our rights, the male population should be made to understand that women are not mere sex objects.
