Imphal, June 28: Over 1,000 Meira Paibis of Nongada and neighbouring villages took out a protest rally on Tuesday in Imphal East district, demanding action against the Assam Rifles troops who shot dead Keshorjit Singh, a relative of a cabinet minister. It was followed by a public meeting where leaders of Apunba Lup and other speakers demanded repeal of the Armed Forces Act and punishment for the personnel involved in the killing, reports our correspondent.
