Water harvesting
The searing heat led to water problems for those residing
on the outskirts. VIG English School Chota Govindpur offered
six acres of its land to Telcon to carry out water harvesting
project under TRSDS guidance. The land given by school is
a water catchment area. Water flowing from the nearby hillocks
would be trapped here. The project would go a long way in
solving water crisis in the neighbouring areas and provide
water for the school students. We are sure that neither
we nor the people residing in the surrounding areas would
have any water problem.

More holidays
The extension of summer vacation for schools made most
children jump for joy. But for us Carmelites it was a bit
of disappointment. First, the scorching summer heat makes
it impossible to play outside. Second, the extra holidays
reminds us of the hovering exam. Since nothing new would
be taught, the portion for the exams is going to be less.
This is something to rejoice as we had the whole of the
summer holidays to prepare.

Cooler city
The vacation were extended bringing smiles to some faces.
But the sad part is we will have to go to school on Saturdays
too in July. But we should ponder over the reason why Jamshedpur
is getting hotter every year. With more trees being cut,
global warming is becoming an international issue and is
a cause of concern. So we should all come forward to work
for better, greener, cleaner, cooler town.
