IFA role for Subrata
Former Mohun Bagan coach Subrata Bhattacharya has been inducted in the IFA coaches? sub committee as its chairman. His former India teammate Moheul Islam and Jamshed Nassiri are also in the committee. Subrata is representing Batore club of Howrah.
This was decided in the IFA?s governing body meeting, on Wednesday. In all, 29 sub-committees have been formed to keep track of the footballing development in the state.
Mohammedan Sporting secretary Sultan Ahmed has been named chairman of the technical sub-committee, while his East Bengal counterpart Kalyan Majumdar will head the professional league sub-committee. Mohun Bagan assistant secretary Balaram Chowdhury has been inducted as chairman in the IFA Shield sub-committee.
AIFF panel
The AIFF on Wednesday formed the players? status committee to look into the disputes over players? inter-state transfers. Debashish Banerjee will represent the east in the four-member committee. East Bengal goalkeeper Sangram Mukherjee and Mahindra?s Covan Lawrence are some of the players who are yet to get no-objection certificate from the clubs they had represented last season.
Lahiri feat
Former Bengal cricketer Satrajit Lahiri has completed the Level 3 coaching course from Lilyshal, Shropshire in England. He had earlier completed Level 2 from the National Cricket Academy in Bangalore.
Regatta
Tirthapati crew members came from behind to upstage St Joseph & Mary?s and won the race over a distance of one and-a-half length in junior boys category of the ongoing inter-school regatta at Lake Club on Wednesday.
In senior girls category, Modern High claimed victory in similar fashions over St Thomas.
