Misguided notion

S imone Reissner’s exposition of God, (A question of faith, June 13), may be appropriate for the materialistic people in Europe, but it doesn’t apply to an Indian. In India God is not a subject of philosophical ramblings, but a tangible realisation. God does not exist because parents want to punish their children, but because human beings yearn for understanding the reality behind the evanescent Universe. Like the religious movements of yesteryears, today’s science demands blind belief and unquestioning faith. The spirit of inquiry irks a scientist who wishes to impose his own views upon society. There is little to choose between organised religion, politics and science, as all are headed by the same egoistic individuals who hoodwink the public for personal gains. Let all these movements leave the free and inquiring mind alone.
