Any Questions
Uma Dasgupta
Senior academician and ex-professor, ISI, Calcutta

Q: I have appeared for my BSc Part II exam (electronics science honours). I have applied for the BTech course in radio physics & electronics which is offered at the Rajabazar Science College. I do not have maths at the BSc level. Can I still apply for the BTech course? What are the other courses that I can apply for?

Monojit Das

A: Your plans of taking a BTech in radio physics and electronics at Calcutta University?s Rajabazar Science College sound good. You must check with them directly if mathematics is required. You can also try other BTech courses at Jadavpur University or in the new engineering colleges established in North Bengal and West Bengal (there is one in Suri, for example), so that you have more than one option. Please contact these institutions ahead of time and find out their admission requirements. All the best.
