Mental help for ?torture? victim

Jamshedpur, June 13: Sudeepa Bose, who was allegedly forced to stay in inhuman conditions at her uncle?s house in Parsudih, tested to be a psychiatric patient.

A medical board, comprising four experts in the MGM Medical College Hospital, gave its verdict on the girl, suggesting that she must be provided immediate psychiatric treatment.

The medical board was constituted after executive magistrate, Ranjana Mishra, went over to the MGM Medical College Hospital and apprised the hospital superintendent, A.K. Verma, of the need to test the girl?s mental and physical status in view of a complaint lodged with the district administration.

Sudeepa was found confined in a room at her uncle?s house yesterday by a district administration team who raided the residence of S.K. Bose after being tipped-off by a social organisation.

She was allegedly kept confined and tortured by her relatives for her property.

Following a complaint lodged with the district administration, East Singhbhum deputy commissioner Nitin Madan Kulkarni had yesterday deputed executive magistrate Ranjana Mishra to take notice of the girl and inquire whether anyone had swindled off the bank balance left behind by her parents.
