Monsoon magic

Taj Hotels Resorts and Palaces in Goa, Kerala, Rajasthan, North and South India will provide Taj Monsoon Blockbuster Offers from June 16 to August 31. The two- and three-night packages at Goa start from Rs 2,170 to Rs 2,875 per person on a double occupancy basis. In Kerala, the rates range between Rs 1,950 (3 nights), Rs 1,840 (5 nights) and Rs 1,670 (7 nights), while at other areas, offers start from Rs 1,250 for a minimum stay of two nights.

Contra fund

Kotak Mutual Fund has unveiled Kotak Contra, an open-ended equity fund, which will take advantage of short-term pricing flaws in fundamentally strong but temporarily unpopular companies. The fund will invest 65-100 per cent in equity and equity related and 0-35 per cent in debt and money market instruments. There is an entry load of 2.25 per cent for investments less than Rs 3 crore. The offer closes on July 30.

Franklin payout

Franklin Templeton has announced a dividend on its FT India Balanced Fund. June 15 is the record date. The fund was launched in December 1999. Since inception, it has posted a return of 13.09 per cent, while over the last one-year and three-year period, it has given returns of 27.71 per cent and 29.08 per cent, respectively. As on June 10, the NAV of the scheme was Rs 19.68.
