Calcutta: Regular Team India captain Sourav Ganguly has been informed by the MCC, organisers of Tuesday’s tsunami fund-raiser at Lord’s, that he will feature in that high-profile match.

“I don’t know whom I’m going to replace, but I do know I’m playing at Lord’s,” Sourav told The Telegraph on Saturday evening, shortly after reaching London from Cardiff.

That Sourav had been approached by the MCC (to be Ramnaresh Sarwan’s replacement, owing to uncertainty over his travel plans) was reported in these columns on Saturday.

Sourav will turn out for the Stephen Fleming-captained MCC XI. The International XI is going to be led by Brian Lara.
