Chennai: India will be playing at home in its first globally-recognised hockey tournament after a nine-year gap, when the Champions Trophy get underway at the Radhakrishnan Stadium here from December 10 this year.
Dennis Meredith, secretary, competition committee and event manager of the international hockey federation (FIH) said the facilities at the venue, where the 1996 Champions Trophy was held, were the best in the sub-continent and that it would be a spectator friendly tournament.
