Steel city finds space on animation map

Jamshedpur, June 3: Arena Multimedia launched an animation academy ? Arena Animation Academy ? in the steel city today.

The academy will run on the premises of Arena Multimedia Centre at Yashkamal Complex in Bistupur.

It will provide animation and multimedia enthusiasts a platform to train in the nitty-gritty of multimedia training and to compete with the best at the international level.

Area head of Arena Multimedia Rajat Khawas, who was in the city today, told The Telegraph that the academy will provide courses in high-end animation with specialisation in Maya (an advanced technique in animation), audio-video editing and special effects. The academy will also offer specialised training in 2D and 3D animation, besides a course on film studies.

Khawas said the first Arena Animation Academy was established in Mumbai in July 2000. At present, it has 15 such academies across the country, including the one that was launched in the city today.

?Our curriculum has been critically acclaimed and appreciated by industry, academia and students alike. The city-based academy will provide training on the latest animation tools and techniques and will be on a par with world-class standards. We are confident that our students will go on and make a mark in the domestic and global arena,? he said.

The academy offers students a thorough practical curriculum, which enables them to gain hands-on experience. ?it will give the students the much-needed experience and confidence to step into the real world,? Khawas added.
