Quake rocks Assam
An
earthquake of moderate range hit Dibrugarh, Tinsukia, Sivasagar
districts of Upper Assam on Thursday morning. The quake measured
5.9 on the Richter scale and its epicentre was the Tibet-Arunachal
Pradesh border, officials at the Shillong-based Central Seismological
Observatory said. No damage has been reported.
Bank loan
The State Bank of India has selected 25 branches across seven centres, in Shillong, Imphal, Agartala, Aizawl, Dimapur, Kohima and Tura, to extend loans to central and state government pensioners whose bank accounts are maintained at SBI branches.
