Dabur to allot shares

New Delhi, May 30: Dabur Pharma Ltd will raise up to Rs 66 crore through preferential allotment of 1.22 crore shares to International Finance Corporation to fund installation of manufacturing capacities and R&D activities. The shares are priced at Rs 54 apiece. An extraordinary general meeting of the company today ratified the board?s decision regarding the allotment.

Rupee slides

Mumbai, May 30: The rupee today tumbled to a one-month closing low of 43.60 against the dollar, losing 6-1/4 paise from Friday's 43.54, despite a positive start at 43.53. The rupee had last ended at weaker levels of 43.71 per dollar on April 28.

Gail move

New Delhi, May 30: Gail (India) Ltd will take a 10 per cent equity in the proposed 1000-MW gas-based power plant being set up at an investment of Rs 3,500 crore at Doraha near Ludhiana in Punjab.

Ficci advice

New Delhi, May 30: The Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (Ficci) has recommended amendments to FDI norms on township and housing projects, abolition of service tax on the construction industry, uniform VAT across states and reduction in stamp duty to speed up growth in real estate.

Mumbai, May 30: Chandan Bhattacharya, a former State Bank MD, today joined as a member of the Securities Appellate Tribunal (SAT).
