Stiff Britons laugh less

Manchester, May 26 (Reuters): Britons laugh just 14 times a day on average, three times less than in the 1950s, a new study showed yesterday, reinforcing the old image of a nation with a stiff upper lip.

However, single women in the northern English city aged 18 to 24 were the happiest people in the UK, according to the ICM survey of 1,000 adults.
