Calcutta: The Indian Hockey Federations myriad mysteries could unfold in this city Monday when the general body meets, ostensibly to decide on a fresh set of office bearers.
Elections have been talked about by certain members, but the tradition of the federation sees a bowing to existing power structures and little spine.
The big fish in this medium pond, federation president K.P.S. Gill, still a supercop in attitude, arrived in this city Saturday evening, to prepare early if elections actually do happen. He refused to comment, as usual, and was holed up in a city hotel, while whispers and horse-trading resumes in right earnest.
Sunday will be the day of many words. Besides the president and secretary general, eight vice-presidents, five joint secretaries and a treasurer would be elected as office-bearers at Mondays AGM. If there are elections, that is, going by tradition
