Spurt in Tinplate earnings
Tinplate Company of India Limited has reported a 50.65 per cent rise in profit before tax at Rs 32.15 crore during the last financial year compared with Rs 21.34 crore in the previous fiscal, said managing director B. L. Raina. It has posted sales of over 1,43,000 million tonnes, approximately up 10 per cent from the previous year?s figures. Exports stood at $29 million, which is 23 per cent of the company?s total sales.

Pentamedia Graphics Ltd?s net profit for the quarter ended March 31 plunged by 89.4 per cent to Rs 50 lakh from Rs 4.75 crore reported in the same quarter previous year. Total income dipped by 64 per cent to Rs 16.04 crore compared with Rs 44.99 crore in the year-ago period.
Goodlass
Goodlass Nerolac Paints Ltd has registered a 59 per cent rise in net profit at Rs 91.96 crore for 2004-05 compared with Rs 57.96 crore in the previous financial year. The company has recommended a dividend of 115 per cent.
Satnam report
Satnam Overseas reported a 38.47 per cent rise in net profit at Rs 17.96 crore for the year ended March 31 against Rs 12.97 crore a year earlier. Sales, however, dipped 5.37 per cent to Rs 503.58 crore from Rs 532.18 crore in 2003-04.
Murugappa
Murugappa Group?s consolidated turnover crossed $1.44 billion (Rs 6,250 crore) in 2004-05. It has announced a capital investment of Rs 650 crore this year in various group companies.
Triveni net up
Triveni Engineering and Industries, the sugar and steam turbine producer, posted a 460 per cent jump in net profit at Rs 99.52 crore last fiscal against Rs 17.76 crore in the previous year. Sales rose by 60.05 per cent to Rs 1021.02 crore compared with Rs 637.92 crore in 2003-04.
Alstom profit
Alstom Projects India Ltd has registered a 37.95 per cent decline in net profit at Rs 47.90 crore during the last financial year compared with Rs 77.20 crore in 2003-04. The board has recommended a dividend of Rs 5.50 per share.
GMDC income
Gujarat Mineral Development Corporation has posted a 24 per cent growth in net profit at Rs 100.50 crore for 2004-05 against Rs 80.95 crore in 2003-04. Total income during the reporting period stood at Rs 378.85 crore.
SBH profit dips
State Bank of Hyderabad (SBH) has reported a decline in profit for the year ended March 31 at Rs 250.90 crore against Rs 381.20 crore a year ago.
Subex sales
Subex Systems Limited has posted a 33 per cent rise in revenue at Rs 116 crore for the year ended March 31. Profits grew 45 per cent at Rs 25.72 crore.
