May date for XLRI training

Jamshedpur, April 10: Come May and Xavier Labour Relations Institute (XLRI) will conduct a certificate programme on network management (Linux) in association with Nettech, a Bhubaneswar-based networking company for engineering students.

About 250 technocrats from Orissa, Jharkhand, West Bengal and other north eastern states will attend the programme. The Bhubaneswar-based company has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with XLRI to conduct the training programme.

Head of XLRI's information system department, Ashish Kumar Pani, who is also the programme co-ordinator said, 'The programme is designed to increase the base of technical knowledge on Linux and Linux-based solutions available in the market. There is a lack of adequate Linux training facilities in the country. The XLRI-Nettech tie-up would definitely benefit the engineering students.'

Pani said candidates opting for the certificate course will have to pay Rs 6,000 and would have to pass the online as well as simulated laboratory examination, which will test real competency and skills in Linux, an advanced computer operating system.
