Inflation dips to 5.05%
New Delhi, April 8: Backed by the goverment
as well as the Reserve Bank?s efforts to rein in the price
spiral, the fiscal 2004-05 ended with the rate of inflation
lower at 5.05 per cent for the week ended March 26. The
wholesale price index inflation fell by 0.06 per cent from
the previous week?s level of 5.11 per cent due to cheaper
edible oils and non-food products. However, food products,
including vegetables, were costlier during the period under
review. The point-to-point inflation was at 4.64 per cent
a year ago.
Nagpur airport
New Delhi, April 8: The Union cabinet today approved the reclassification of Nagpur airport as an international one, with customs facilities. The cabinet agreed to reclassify the airport on a plea made by Maharashtra government, which sought the development of a world class multi-modal international passenger and cargo hub airport at Nagpur.
HM price
New Delhi, April 8: Hindustan Motors, the C. K. Birla group flagship, today raised the price of its ambassador models between Rs 8000 and Rs 18,000. It has also implemented Bharat stage III emission norms across all categories.

New Delhi, April 8: The Planning Commission has approved Power Finance Corp?s plans to raise capital through an IPO this fiscal in which the government is likely to offload up to 10 per cent stake.
